Traffic Solver is a sofware application that helps traffic engineers manage signal based intersection projects. At this moment it has three main parts, each of them providing a different functionality.
Intergreen is designed to be an easy to use and intuitive tool for calculating safety times in a signal controlled intersection. To implement your intersection project you have to upload a map, define a set of rules that you want to be applied in the calculations and then add the signal groups on the map. Traffic Solver allows you to upload your maps in the following formats: Wmf, Pdf, Bmp, Jpg, Jpeg, Gif, Png, Emf.
Before adding the signal groups, an important step is setting the scale for the map. The Scale is important for determining accurately the distances between the signal groups and the conflict points. Based on these distances and the defined rules, the safety time is calculated.
The set of rules, called Design Rules, are speed, vehicle length, predefined time spans and customization parameters defined for each signal group type.
In the Stages part of the project you can design the flow of the intersection stages, by defining the status of the signal groups for each stage.
When you first enter the Stages part, a Free Solution will be automatically generated. There are two types of stage solutions:
The stage diagrams are generated using the groups designed on the map in the Intergreen part.
The third part of the project, called Status diagram, allows you to describe in a more precise way the signal status flow within a stage and in the whole stage cycle.
For each Stage solution you can create a set of status diagrams, where you can manage the statuses through which each group passes within the stages.
This part is still being developed. Features and functionality will be implemented soon.
